About

Birdyas is a field atlas of the world's birdwatching places, built entirely on open data.

For each place we count the bird species recorded around it, month by month, in the open records published on GBIF — mostly eBird observations by birdwatchers — keeping only the records licensed for any use. From the months we tell residents from summer and winter visitors and passage migrants; names, photographs and conservation status come from Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons.

Nothing here is a guarantee of seeing a bird. Respect the birds: keep your distance from nests and roosts, stay on paths and in hides, and follow the rules of each reserve.
